Reception and Shop
For a bit of retail therapy, a unique souvenir or gift for a special someone, or just a little essential you may have forgotten we have got you covered. Our reception and gift shop is open, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and sometimes a bit more with one of a kind Scottish art, locally made soap, luxury chocolate, snacks, fresh and frozen food, freshly ground coffee, guide books and more.
You’ll also find seating inside and out to relax in while you use the free Wi-fi network and browse guide books and brochures to plan your day. Ask Deneil if you would like help booking activities or suggestions for a local restaurant, or have a look at some of the other little extras available to make your stay just right, from rods to borrow to try your hand at a bit of fishing on the loch, or a tub fish food to create a stir in the pond, to picnic blankets and umbrellas for your day out. We’re here to help and if the lights are on just pop in and say hi!
Fishing
Lochaber offers a wide variety of fishing opportunities, be it game, course or sea angling. With no less than 8 Salmon rivers within driving distance of Invergloy game fishermen are spoilt for choice.
For the course fisher, Lochaber offers one of the best chances of landing specimen brown trout between Loch Arkaig and Loch Lochy. Trout well into double figures in weight are not uncommon here. For the dedicated angler these two lochs both offer the rare opportunity to land Ferrox trout on the fly which is practically unheard of in the UK. Loch Lochy, Loch Arkaig and Loch Oich, all in the local area also offer great Pike fishing with Pike well into the 20lb plus mark.
Guests of Riverside enjoy fishing rights without the need for permits onto Lochy Lochy from our private beach with space to store and launch boats and the beautiful “Otter Hut” and barbeque to shelter from the typical Highland elements and to cook up the latest catch of the day.
Cluanie Lodge is often referred to as our fisherman’s lodge and is frequented by many fishing groups through the season, this lodge comfortably sleeps 6 in up to 5 beds, has stunning views from the private decking onto Loch Lochy and a subtle fishing theme to the décor.

Fantastic local company River to Sea Scotland will get you out on the water exploring the area from a whole new perspective! Imagine a beautiful Kayak trip along Loch Lochy through the day, followed by a cosy barbecue in the barbecue hut! Then a wander back up to your lodge for some zzzz’s
River to Sea Scotland, owned and operated by experienced guide Reece will meet you at Invergloy and either equip you with the essentials to head out on the the loch on your own, or take you on a guided adventure.

Guided Canoe / Kayak Trips
Discover the beauty of canoeing this remarkable mountainous landscape, right from your doorstep! Specially designed for Invergloy Riverside Lodges, Reece and his team aim to make their guided trips the highlight of your holiday. This trip is suitable for all abilities, from complete beginners to seasoned paddlers. They will make full use of the weather conditions and use it to enhance your experience. If it’s a nice calm day, you will glide across the water, exploring bays and secluded stretches of shoreline, as you soak up the sun. If the wind picks up, not a problem – They can hoist the canoe sails & race across the loch, all under the safety and supervision of your experienced and qualified guide.
All trips are exclusive to you and your party. This way they can tailor the day to meet your needs and desires. If you’re a family group, they will arrive armed with plenty of games and challenges to keep the day varied and exciting for the wee ones. If you are into your wild swimming, they can take you to the best spots. Or maybe you want to try and paddle the whole loch – they will give you lots of top tips and handy hints to help you along the way.

Otter Hut Barbeque
After a busy day of activities there is a stone barbecue on the beach next to the Otter Hut for all guests to enjoy. Ask at reception and Deneil will set you up free of charge with a picnic basket with plates and cutlery, a cool bag for food, and barbecue tools all ready to take down to the beach for an excellent barbecue. You can also purchase charcoal from our shop. The key to the Otter Hut can be found on your lodge key ring, this is a shared space with other lodge guests. We do ask that you please never use barbecues on the lodge decking. If you really want to use an instant barbecue you can do so in the car park a safe distance from the timber lodges and wood fencing.
Grillikota Indoor Barbecue Hut
Barbecue in any weather in our Grillikota Barbecue Hut, an indoor barbecue hut that provides a spectacular setting for an unforgettable dining experience whatever the highland weather has in store. On a warm day this can be a pretty toasty plan, we think the Grillikota is best suited to the cold rainy days. Decorated inside with reindeer hide rugs and fairy lights the BBQ hut experience is reminiscent of a Santa’s Grotto or a fairytale cottage. Feel the warmth of the barbecue as you grill and dine at your leisure soaking up the unique atmosphere. We will set the barbecue with charcoal lit and ready to cook on and fairy lights and candles on ready for a cosy evening, you just need to bring the food, steak, sausages, venison, veggie kebabs, smores…. just bring your favourites ready to cook.
